Front Row Motorsports with Yates Racing
Budweiser Shootout Recap

Sunday, February 7, 2010

Track: Daytona International Speedway, 2.5-mile Tri-Oval, Daytona Beach, Florida

John Andretti, No. 34 Window World Cares Ford Team
Starting Position: 10th
Finishing Position: 22nd

Notes:

Front Row Motorsports with Yates Racing aimed to get Speedweeks off to a strong start with John Andretti in Saturday night's Budweiser Shootout at Daytona International Speedway. But a caution-filled race didn't spare the No. 34 Window World Cares Ford Fusion, as Andretti was collected in a late-race wreck that sent the car to the garage with heavy front-end damage.

The team started in the 10th position and hoped to make a strong run for Window World Cares in memory of Todd Whitworth, CEO of Window World, who passed away unexpectedly on Friday. In addition to the Window World Cares paint scheme, the 34 machine had a special decal dedicating the race to Whitworth, who was both a partner and a friend to Front Row Motorsports.

The Shootout includes two segments - 25 laps in the first segment and 50 laps for the second. Debris on the grill during the first segment kept Andretti from racing in the lead pack, but instead raced patiently in the back of the pack. When he was able to bring the car down pit road for the scheduled 10-minute break between segments, the 34 team cleaned off the grill and made adjustments to help with handling.

The Window World Cares Ford started the second segment in 17th position. Andretti reported the car was performing better and tried to keep working the high line where it was strongest. He made his second pit stop on Lap 44 under yellow when Kurt Busch spun into the grass, and the 34 team made additional adjustments to try to help push the car up through the field.

Andretti was working his way into the top 15 when, with just seven laps to go, he became a victim of contact between Ryan Newman and Michael Waltrip. The 51 car of Waltrip knocked into Andretti, causing front-end damage that sent the Window World Cares Ford Fusion to the garage with an early finish for the night. The team finished in 22nd.

The Saturday night Shootout featured multiple lead changes late in the race, with Kevin Harvick taking the checkers for his second consecutive win in the event.

Comments from Window World Cares Ford Team Driver John Andretti after the Budweiser Shootout:

"Somebody turned the 51 and, boom, there he was right in front of me. It happened that quick. And this is our backup car for the 500, so now we're in a tight space."

Window World and John Andretti Racing with Heavy Hearts

N. WILKESBORO, N.C. (February 5, 2010) - Window World Inc., John Andretti and the Window World Racing community will be racing in the memory of Window World CEO Todd Whitworth during the 2010 race season. Whitworth passed away unexpectedly on February 5.

Window World's foundation, Window World Cares, is the primary sponsor of John Andretti and the No. 34 Ford team for Front Row Motorsports and Boris Said and the No. 26 Ford team for Latitude 43.

Window World has been heavily involved in motorsports since the beginning of 2009. America's largest window replacement company first partnered with Andretti during the 2009 Daytona 500. The relationship expanded to seven NASCAR Sprint Cup events and the famed Indianapolis 500 when Andretti raced with Richard Petty Motorsports. Window World and Andretti were the only driver/sponsor combination to race in both the Daytona and Indianapolis 500 - two of the largest sporting events in the world.

"This loss is monumental on all levels," said Blair Ingle, President, Window World. "His passion for auto racing, Window World Cares, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Veteran's Airlift Command were immeasurable. We know in our heart that Todd would want to have John (Andretti) and Boris (Said) continue to race this weekend and raise support for Window World Cares and St. Jude. We will all feel pride knowing that the legacy of Todd will be carried through their efforts."

Andretti and the No. 34 Front Row Motorsports with Yates Racing team plan to memorialize Whitworth by running a decal on the car during the duration of Speedweeks and wearing black armbands around their uniform sleeves.

"My heart is heavy," said Andretti. "Todd was more than a sponsor partner of mine. He was a true friend and I'm deeply saddened by his sudden loss. Todd and I met a few years ago and he almost immediately became a part of the Andretti family. His family and extended Window World family are all in my prayers, especially his wife Tammy and children Anna Grace, Wyatt and Tucker.

Front Row Motorsports with Yates Racing and Andretti will first be on the track in honor of Whitworth during Saturday's qualifying session for the Daytona 500 and the Budweiser Shootout later in the evening.

"Todd was one of the first sponsors to help support Front Row Motorsports," said Bob Jenkins, Owner, Front Row Motorsports with Yates Racing. "We send our thoughts and prayers to the Whitworth family and the entire Window World organization."

Andretti Straps into Window World Cares Ford for Shootout

Wednesday, February 3, 2010

by Jeff Dennison, Front Row Motorsports

STATESVILLE, N.C. -- When the sparks start flying in NASCAR's season-opening Budweiser Shootout, John Andretti will be in the middle of the action for Front Row Motorsports with Yates Racing. The racing veteran will drive the No. 34 Window World Cares Ford Fusion in Saturday's winner-take-all exhibition.

Front Row announced this week that Andretti will drive the team's No. 34 Ford Fusion in the Feb. 14 Daytona 500. His 1997 win at the Coke Zero 400 makes him eligible to also run the Shootout.

"It's just fun to be in it," Andretti said of the exhibition race. "You hate for any race to go on and not be in it. So if you're going to be there, you should be in it, having fun and not watching other people have fun. And the Budweiser Shootout is definitely a fun race. It's the first race of the NASCAR season and leads up to the 'Great American Race.' It's a good warm-up for the drivers, for the team and for the pit crew.

"And, you know, there's always bragging rights on the line. Like they say, finishing second in the Bud Shootout is not a good point's day - because there are no points. There's only one spot to finish in, and everybody drives it that way. It obviously creates a lot of excitement. I don't have a lot of hair, but it's a time to let your hair down and have fun. There's very little to lose and a lot to gain."

After driving a full schedule last year between Front Row Motorsports and an Indianapolis 500 entry for Richard Petty Motorsports, Andretti is looking forward to a part-time schedule in 2010.

"I'm more relaxed because I can go to Daytona and not be looking at California and everything that's coming up next," Andretti said. "I'm not thinking about anything but Daytona."

The Budweiser Shootout gets under way on Saturday at 8 p.m. (ET) on FOX.

Window World Sponsors John Andretti and Boris Said at Daytona 500

Monday, February 1, 2010

N. WILKESBORO, N.C. - (Business Wire) Window World, Inc., the nation’s largest replacement window company, announced today the sponsorship of two cars in the 2010 Daytona 500. John Andretti with Front Row Motorsports will drive the No. 34 Window World Cares Ford Fusion, while Boris Said will drive the No. 26 Ford Fusion with Latitude 43 Motorsports.

The No. 26 and 34 cars will feature Window World’s foundation, Window World Cares, and its charitable beneficiary, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®.

“The Daytona 500 is an exciting venue for our company, and we’re thrilled that this year our foundation, Window World Cares, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will be represented,” said Todd Whitworth, CEO, Window World. “Having both John Andretti and Boris Said in Window World Cares cars is an incredible opportunity to promote these great organizations to the NASCAR community.”

Window World’s return to the Daytona 500 follows the company’s successful debut in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series last year and marks the second year in a row that Window World, Andretti and Front Row Motorsports have teamed up for the “Great American Race.” Last season, Window World and Andretti teamed together for seven NASCAR Sprint Cup events as well as the Indianapolis 500.

“It’s always an honor to race in the Daytona 500,” said Andretti. “Having Window World’s support again this year is tremendous. They have been a great partner of mine over the past year including last year’s Daytona 500 and the Indianapolis 500. I’m proud to have them back at the Daytona 500 this year and to partner with Window World Cares to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. It’s something that means a lot to me personally.”

Sponsoring Boris Said in the No. 26 Window World Cares Ford Fusion marks the second time that Window World has sponsored two cars at Daytona. This is the first partnership between Window World and Said.

Said’s NASCAR Sprint Cup history includes two top five finishes, seven top ten finishes and two poles. This will be Said’s third start in the Daytona 500.

“It’s great to be going back to the Daytona 500,” said Said. “I’m especially pleased to be teaming up with Window World and its foundation, Window World Cares, as well as Latitude 43 Motorsports. It’s a privilege to be promoting such a great cause at this year’s race.”

Will Field No. 34 Ford Fusion for Front Row Motorsports

N. WILKESBORO, N.C. (February 1, 2010) - Coming off a successful debut in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series beginning in last season's Daytona 500, Window World Inc. announced today it will return as the primary sponsor of the No. 34 Window World Cares Ford Fusion driven by John Andretti in this year's "Great American Race." Last season Window World and Andretti teamed together for seven Sprint Cup events and also the Indianapolis 500 when Andretti raced for Richard Petty Motorsports. "The entire Window World Family is excited to once again team up with John Andretti and Front Row Motorsports for the Daytona 500," said Todd Whitworth, CEO, Window World. "John has proven to be a winner in the past both on and off the track. He's been a great ambassador for us, and we're proud to return to the Daytona 500 with him and the Window World Cares team."

Andretti is no stranger to success at the 2.5-mile Daytona International Speedway. He has two wins including the prestigious Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona sports car event and the Coke Zero 400 at the track. This will mark his 15th start in the Daytona 500.

"It's always an honor to race in the Daytona 500," said Andretti. "Having Window World's support again this year is tremendous. They have been a great partner of mine over the past year including last year's Daytona 500 and the Indianapolis 500. I'm proud to have them back at the Daytona 500 this year and to partner with Window World Cares to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. It's something that means a lot to me personally."

The announcement reunites Andretti with Front Row Motorsports, the team he raced for in 2009.

"It's great to have John (Andretti) and Window World back at Front Row Motorsports," said Bob Jenkins, owner. "Last season Window World and John were a very big part of our success throughout the season. We're looking forward to giving them a strong No. 34 with Ford Fusion with factory support and Roush/Yates Engines."

Front Row Motorsports Completes Daytona 500 Driver Line-Up

Andretti Returns, Kvapil to Race ExtenZe Racing Ford

STATESVILLE, NC (February 1, 2010) - Front Row Motorsports is now ready for the Daytona 500 with a strong three-car entry. With the announcing of John Andretti returning to the No. 34 Window World-supported Ford Fusion, Travis Kvapil will move into the No. 37 ExtenZe Ford. Kevin Conway will return to that seat for the Sprint Cup Series second event at the California Speedway and begin his trek for Raybestos Rookie of the Year.

Kvapil will move back into the No. 34 Long John Silver's Ford beginning in California. Robert Richardson Jr. will race the No. 38 Mahindra USA Tractors Ford in the Daytona 500, the Aaron's 499 in April at Talladega Superspeedway and the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway in July. David Gilliland will race the No. 38 Taco Bell Ford for the majority of the season and debut in California.

The team also confirms Randy Seals as the crew chief on the No. 38 Ford Fusion for the 2010 campaign. Seals, 43, comes to the team from Richard Petty Motorsports, where he served in Research and Development.

"We are really proud to have three fully funded programs for the Daytona 500," said Bob Jenkins, team owner. "It's great to have John (Andretti) back in the car as he and Travis give us a lot of experience. Robert has proven that he's fast in a Cup car at a plate track after his run last year at Talladega. We have a strong line-up to start the season."

John Andretti replacing Front Row’s Kevin Conway for Daytona 500

By Bob Pockrass | Monday, February 01, 2010

John Andretti will compete in the Daytona 500 for Front Row Motorsports as rookie Kevin Conway will not be eligible for the event, the team has confirmed.

Andretti will drive the No. 34 car with sponsorship from Window World Cares, Window World’s charitable foundation, which raises money for St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Andretti drove the No. 34 all last season. The team is locked into the 500 after finishing 35th in owner points last season.

Travis Kvapil will drive the team’s No. 37 car with sponsorship from Conway sponsor Extenze. Robert Richardson Jr. will drive the No. 38 with sponsorship from Mahindra. Starting with the Feb. 21 race at Auto Club Speedway in California, Conway (who is eligible for all tracks 2 miles and shorter) will drive the No. 37 and Kvapil will drive the No. 34. David Gilliland will drive all but two of the remaining events in the No. 38.

Team owner Bob Jenkins said in mid-January he was hoping to get both the No. 37 and No. 38 cars guaranteed starting spots. There are two spots from the 2009 owners points not allocated for 2010, and as a Ford team, Jenkins is the most likely to get them.

Neither Max Jones nor Doug Yates, the former owners of Yates Racing, are part of the ownership group of Richard Petty Motorsports, which merged with Yates, so there is a possibility a deal could be done for Paul Menard’s No. 98 points from last year (with Menard getting locked in with the No. 44 RPM points from last year). Another deal could be done with Hall of Fame Racing for points from the No. 96 car, which was operated by Yates Racing last year. Hall of Fame currently does not have sponsors to race this season.

NASCAR typically does not allow the outright sale of points but as long as a member of the previous ownership group is part of the current team, it will allow the transfer of points during the off-season.

NASCAR already has approved the transfer of the No. 26 Roush Fenway Racing points from last year to Latitude 43 Motorsports, a new team. Richard Childress Racing is forming an alliance with Furniture Row Racing that will move the No. 07 points to the No. 78 car and Regan Smith.
